Ripen tomatoes at the end of
the growing season

At the end of the growing season it is a challenge to ripen tomatoes, resulting in potentiallost turnover. Restrain accelerates the ripening process of your tomatoes on the plant, allowing the last tomatoes of the season to ripen naturally.

In warmer southern climates, tomato plants become exhausted in summer. By administering ethylene to your plants at night, you also improve the yield of these crops.

How does it work?

Intro for tomato growers

Last 3/4 weeks of the growing season

The treatment starts during the last three to four weeks of the growing season. A Restrain generator is placed inside your greenhouse.

Disperses ethylene gas in the greenhouse

The generator converts ethanol into ethylene gas. The generator disperses a low concentration of ethylene gas through your greenhouse. The dynamic ethylene gas weighs about the same as air.

Ripen naturally on the plant

The ethylene allows your tomatoes to ripen naturally on the plant, but faster, while retaining flavour and shelf life.

A generator is placed inside the greenhouse. This ripening machine produces a low concentration of natural ethylene gas for the last three weeks of the growing season. All Tomatoes ripened uniformly.

At the same time, sensor control and maintain a stable ethylene concentration within a ripening environment.

Both generator and sensor work together in ripening the last four to five trusses of tomatoes on the plant, resulting in a continuous harvest with no production peaks.
